BATH, Maine -- 10/8/14 -- Tyler Rowe of Enterprise Trenchless Technology Incorporated closes up a gas line trench across Washington St. in Bath on Wednesday with a weight compactor. Gas lines began going in on Aug 20. Washington St -- from Centre to Bowery St -- is complete and the company is now working their way down the side streets. In the foreground is the 2" gas line used to deliver natural gas to Bath homes. Equipment Operator Josh Worth said,
"The most difficult part of this job is working around the ledge. " The minimum depth for a two inch pipe is 38 inches. "There are a lot of places here in Bath where the ledge is closer to the surface than our minimum depth." Photo ©2014 by Roger S. Duncan.
