  • 4/27/11 -- BRUNSWICK, Maine. Eliot Pitney, Coach of Bowdoin Women's Crew, drills his team on the new Meadows river in late April. Pitney has coached at Bowdoin for the last 4 years. and before that at Bates.  "This time of year," he says, " I'm ready to quit -- I'm just exhausted. But, give me a week off and then I'm right back at it -- ready to go for fall!"  Pitney, also working on a  Master's in Mechanical Engineering puts in about 12 hours a week on the water - not including trips to and from races. "It gets in your blood," he says of rowing.   • 5/31/09 -- BATH, Maine. Jen Rohde of Cumberland closes in on the finish line at the Bath Y Tri on Sunday morning. The Triathalon drew nearly 200 participants and over 100 volunteers to the Bath YMCA. Winners were Kurt Perham for the men and Alicia Trott, both of Brunswick.
